Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for early rock & roll pioneer Bo Diddley appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 8/12-13/1966.

Art by Stanley Mouse (who has also SIGNED the piece in black razor-tip pen) and Alton Kelley, image ("Earthquake") is # 21 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. (*light blue stock)

Thin flat stock flyer is in decent/used (B-) condition; there are a series of tiny pin-prick age spots and tiny splatter stains scattered throughout the image area, along with a dime-sized stain on the "r" of "Ballroom", a moderate amount of handling wear/stress creasing, a 2" diagonal bend in the upper left corner and a bit of mild paper toning, otherwise OK.

While this example certainly has its share of conditional issues, it is still one of the harder-to-find early Avalon flyers and it's SIGNED.
