Description

Original 1st printing 14&3/4 x 24" concert/event poster for the annual Queen of Hearts (Masquerade) Ball, held at the Galleria in San Francisco, CA on 4/1/1977.

The annual event was sponsored by Margo St. James/COYOTE, this edition featured performances by Obeah, the John Girton Band featuring Maryann Price (Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks) and none other than underground comix legend R. Crumb (and His Cheap Suit Serenaders).

Art by David Lance Goines, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 352 (plate 4.61).

Medium semi-textured vellum stock stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; there are a few tiny pressure creases scattered along the right margin, along with a whisper of minor handling wear and a slightly rounded bottom left corner tip, otherwise it is a GORGEOUS example of this semi-obscure AOR piece from one of Margo St. James' infamous 1970's-era San Francisco parties.
