Description

Original 1st printing 18&1/4 x 18&1/4" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with Love (featuring Arthur Lee) and C.I.A. (Citizens for Interplanetary Activity) at the Rock Garden in San Francisco, CA from 3/21-26/1967.

Art by Michael Wood/Pyxis Studios, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 196 (plate 2.214).

Medium flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a series of semi-camouflaged thin stress/roll bends and light handling creases (mostly visible on the reverse side) scattered throughout the image area, along with a few tiny edge dings and a soft smudge at about 2:00 on the outer margin, otherwise it is a very nice-looking gently-used example of this colorful poster from the short-lived Mission District nightclub.
