Original 16 x 24" mixed-media artwork, along with an original 1st printing 11 x 17" concert/event poster for "An American Music Show at the Rose Bowl", an all-day show sponsored by Pinnacle, featuring Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin)* appearing with Joan Baez, the Byrds, Country Joe & the Fish, Junior Wells and Buddy Guy, Wilson Pickett, Buffy St. Marie, the Everly Brothers and the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) at the aforementioned Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on 9/15/1968.
 
 Art by John Van Hamersveld and Raphael (Bob) Schnepf, image (full-color Personality Posters version) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 277 (plate 3.71). *this is the locally-distributed two-color version that was made before the full-color version (this version does not have the little "clouds" in the background, which were added later)
 
 The artwork is a mix of pen/ink with paste-up/photostat lettering (the central image also appears to be a photostat) on Crescent Illustration board with a clear plastic overlay (affixed with (peeling) black tape along the top border; it is in pretty good shape, with a couple of hand-written printer's notes (front and reverse), white-out corrections and a little bit of wear around the outer edges (the "With" piece of lettering (between Buddy Guy and Jr. Wells) has fallen off, but can easily be reattached), along with a bit of age spotting/minor "fogging" on the plastic overlay, but overall there are no real major issues... additionally, it has been hand-signed in pencil and dated (1968) along the bottom margin by John Van Hamersveld.

The poster is on medium flat vellum stock and is in near mint to excellent (A- to A-/B+) condition with just a few light handling creases here and there, otherwise it is a VERY sharp example.
