Original 1st printing 16 x 22" hand-pulled silkscreen concert poster for the Eighth San Francisco Blues Festival, held at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell in San Francisco, CA from 9/13-14/1980.
While no artists are listed, this edition of the annual event featured performances by John Lee Hooker, Pee Wee Crayton, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and MANY more.
Design by Shumaker, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 342 (plate 4.33). *The example in the book has been HEAVILY hand-doodled/embellished with the names of the performers in different colored magic markers, this example is untouched.
Medium-thick hand-pulled silkscreen poster (printed on flat vellum oak-tag stock) is in excellent (B+) condition; there are a few ultra-tiny staple holes hiding within the image area, along with a 1/2" diagonal bend in the bottom left corner and a couple of tiny edge dings scattered around the outer margin area, otherwise it is a GREAT-looking example of this low-run silkscreen poster from the annual Bay Area event.
FIRST one of these I have had pass through.
