Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" boxing-style concert handbill for "The Blues Bag", a series of multi-act shows held at the Cafe Au Go-Go in NYC's Greenwich Village from 11/24-27/1965.
Acts listed include: T-Bone Walker, John Lee Hooker, Big Joe Williams, Son House, Bukka White, Skip James, Stephan Grossman & Rory, Judy Roderick, David Blue, the Chambers Brothers, N.Y. Public Library, Eric Andersen, Geoff Muldaur, the Blues Project, Seventh Sons, Carl & Anna, Danny Kalb, Tommy Flanders, Al Kooper, John Hammond, Buzz Linhart and MC Izzy Young (NY Folklore Center)
Design by/printed by Murray Poster Printing, thin flat stock letterpress handbill is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a 3/4" tear in the left center margin (going through "David Blue"), along with "1965" written in red pencil in the top left corner, a few ultra-light handling dings here and there and a touch of uneven toning on the reverse side (bottom right corner), otherwise fine.
FASCINATING late-1965 NYC concert artifact from the annual Thanksgiving-weekend shows held at the Cafe Au Go-Go featuring an eclectic lineup of rock/blues/folk acts- a formula which would soon be adopted by a couple of fairly well-known West Coast promoters.
