Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 21&3/4" concert/event poster for the 1st Northern California Folk-Rock Festival, held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA from 5/18-19/1968.
Poster lists performances by: Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, Country Joe & the Fish, the Animals, Taj Mahal, Ravi Shankar, Electric Flag, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), the Youngbloods and Kaleidoscope. Also appeared (not listed): Grateful Dead, Crome Syrcus, Trans-Atlantic Railroad and more.
Design by Carson Morris Studios, the image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 232 (plate 2.341).
Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; just a few light pinch dings hiding within the image area, a tiny edge ding or two and a very thin horizontal roll crease along the upper margin area, otherwise fine.
An absolutely FANTASTIC example of this always in-demand 1968 multi-act festival poster from the first year of the event.
