Original 1st printing 8&3/4 x 11&3/4" 4-page bi-fold concert/event program for the 8/31-9/1/1969 New Orleans Pop Festival, held at the Baton Rouge International Raceway in Prairieville, LA.
Art by St. Germain, program lists festival participants Canned Heat, Chicago Transit Authority, Janis Joplin, the Byrds, Grateful Dead, Oliver, Iron Butterfly, Country Joe & the Fish, It's A Beautiful Day, Santana, the Youngbloods, Dr. John the Night Tripper and Tyrannosaurus Rex (featuring Marc Bolan), Jefferson Airplane (with Glen McKay's Headlights), Lee Michaels, Sweetwater, Cat Mother & the All Night Newsboys and and a host of local acts (White Fox, Axis, Deacon John and the Electric Soul Train and others)
Thin flat vellum stock program is in good (B) condition; there is a light to moderate amount of pin-prick age spotting and light scuffing on the outer covers, along with a few thin bends/creases here and there, a bit of minor edge tattering/wear, a thin vertical bend extending from the top right margin down into the right side of the image area on the cover, a hint of spine wear, a couple of bent/dog-earred corners and a bit of mild paper toning, otherwise OK.
Neat little late-'69 festival artifact from a mostly-forgotten post-Woodstock event held way down in Louisiana. Check out the Grateful Dead's set HERE:
