Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with the Sir Douglas Quintet and the Orkustra at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 5/5-7/1967.

 Art by Rick Griffin with a photo by Bob Seidemann, image ("Motherload") is # 60 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.

 Medium flat index stock poster is in used (B-) condition; as you can see from the photo, there is a good-sized chunk of paper missing from the bottom left corner tip, along with multiple staple holes/tiny drag tears in all four corners, a series of soft horizontal roll vends, a few well-camouflaged pin-prick splatter stains, a small surface pull on the FD logo in the upper right corner, a few thin stress creases/handling dings here and there, a moderate degree of paper toning, tape pulls on the reverse... definitely a well-traveled survivor.
