Original 1st printing 28 x 15" concert poster for the Shiva's Head Band appearing on 1/26/1968 and Afro Caravan appearing on 1/28/1968, both shows supported by the Strawberry Shoemaker and held at the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin, TX.

 Art by underground comix legend Gilbert Shelton ("Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers", "Wonder Warthog"), image ("Checkered Eye") is # 13 in the VGC/Vulcan Gas Company series.

 Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good (B) condition; there is a semi-pronounced curl to the paper, with a couple of thin vertical roll bends/stress creases hiding within the image area and around the outer margin area, a 1&1/2" tear in the left center margin, a pair of tack/nail holes about 2" above the "es" of "Congress", a series of tiny edge creases/splits and a stray nip tear or two scattered around the outer margin area, a thin 2&1/2" diagonal bend in the upper left corner and a few well-camouflaged thin stress bends hiding within the image area, otherwise OK.

 A nice-looking gently-used example of a fairly early (and not super easy to find) numbered Vulcan Gas poster.
