Description
Original 1st printing 13&3/4 x 23" concert poster for the Charlatans appearing with Frumious Bandersnatch and Triple AAA (Anonymous Artists of America) at the Western Front in San Francisco, CA from 10/27-28/1967.
Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image (red stock version) is featured in the Art of Rock on page 191 (plate 2.200). *This image was printed in two colors- the red one pictured in the AOR book and this version on cream/buff stock. It is sometimes referred to as "Fat F*ck" due to the tiny hidden profanity in the photo.
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; nothing more than a couple of ultra-thin edge bends, a tiny pin-prick spot or two hiding within the image area, a tiny pinch bend in the left center margin and a pair of light press roller marks in the right center margin, otherwise fine.
FANTASTIC-looking example of this amusing 1967 Mouse/Kelley poster from the short-lived Western Front.
