Pair of original 1st printing 1970/71 thin-paper concert artifacts featuring the Beans (soon to become the Tubes);
First is a 9&1/4 x 7&1/4" blank-reverse large handbill for the Beans appearing with Throat and First Lite Century at the Elmo Lincoln Memorial Festival held on the campus of Phoenix (AZ) College on 4/11/1971. Designer/photographer unknown/not credited, thin flat stock handbill is in excellent (B+) condition; just a few soft handling creases and a slight soft diagonal bend along the upper left margin, otherwise fine.
Second is a 5&3/8 x 8&1/2" blank-reverse handbill for the Beans appearing with Steve Forman (Eclectic Mouse) and Michael McFadden and the Howard Kaiser Rust Quartet on 10/16/1970 and with Mike Collins and HKRQ (again) on 10/17/1970 at the Music Hall in Phoenix, AZ. Designer unknown (illegible credit), thin flat stock handbill is in excellent (B+) condition; this one has scattered light handling creases and a couple of soft corner bends, but is overall in pretty good shape.
ULTRA-SCARCE and VERY EARLY pre-Tubes concert artifacts from when the band was still based in Arizona (and before the name change).
