Description
Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for Jefferson Airplane appearing with MC5, the Rationals, Apostles and Ourselves at Ford Auditorium in Detroit, MI on 6/30/1967.
Art by Carlson, image is # 34 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande Ballroom series (GG-670630 OHB-B in the Eric King guide)
Thin flat stock flyer is in good (B) condition; there are tack holes in all four corners and in the top/bottom center margin, along with a tiny wedge/slice out of the top left corner tip, a thin vertical/diagonal bend extending from the "A" of "Airplane" down to the "O" of "Ourselves, a bit of semi-pronounced diagonal corner creasing in the lower right corner/margin, a series of light handling dings/stress bends, pin-prick spots/scuffs and a thin surface scratch or two here and there, a bit of light scuffing around the upper part of the image area, mild paper toning and a couple of light surface pulls on the reverse, otherwise OK.
Hard-to-find mid-1967 concert flyer from the Russ Gibb series, one of only a few non-Grande Ballroom pieces in the entire set. Apparently the MC5 had half of their equipment repossessed right after they got off stage.
