Description

Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" 24-page concert program and 1&1/2 x 2" torn ticket stub (2/13 late show) for the Grateful Dead appearing with Love (featuring Arthur Lee) and the Allman Brothers Band (with Duane Allman and Berry Oakley) at Bill Graham's Fillmore East on 2/11/1970 and from 2/13-14/1970. (*plus appearances by Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac).

Cover design by David Edward Byrd, medium-thin glossy stock program is Vol. 2, issue # 12 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East program series and is in excellent (B+) condition; aside from a whisper of light handling wear, a trace of surface wear on the front/rear covers and hint of creasing along the spine (interior is completely intact/marking-free), it's as pretty much as nice as they come.

The stub (orchestra row UU, seat 24) is in used/worn shape- there are pieces of clear tape covering a large portion of the surface area (one of them is covering a 3/4" tear in the right margin), along with several staple holes, creasing, rounded corner tips, pen scratch (band names in blue ballpoint) and a tape pull on the reverse side... definitely a well-worn artifact.

Absolutely LEGENDARY set of early-1970 Fillmore East performances, not just for the collaborations (the Dead jamming with the Allmans and members of Fleetwood Mac), but for the length and quality of the shows, which often ran WELL into the evening. Portions of these shows were recorded (by the one and only Owsley "Bear" Stanley) and released as "Bear's Choice" in 1973 (and MUCH later as "Dick's Pick's 4"); check out some INCREDIBLE footage of the 2/14 show HERE:
