Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for the Grateful Dead appearing with Oxford Circle at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 9/16-17/1966.

Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse (with Edmund Sullivan), image ("Skeleton & Roses") is # 26 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.

Thin flat stock flyer is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there is a bit of paper tightening/vertical moisture rippling in the bottom center margin that goes from the bottom edge up into "Avalon" (about a 3 x 2" area), along with a touch of softening along the bottom margin, a tiny black spot in the left center margin and a few ULTRA-light/soft bends scattered around the outer margin area, otherwise it is a GREAT-LOOKING original 1st printing example of this iconic early Grateful Dead image from the Avalon.

Considering what some of the posters have been going for lately, this is a pretty decent reasonably-priced alternative.
