Original 1st printing 3&5/8 x 7" blank-reverse concert handbill for "An American Music Show", an all-day event held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on 9/5/1968.
Art by Raphael (Bob) Schnepf and John Van Hamersveld, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 277 (plate 3.71) and lists appearances by: Joan Baez, the Everly Brothers, the Byrds, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), Country Joe & the Fish, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Wilson Pickett and the Mothers of Invention (with Frank Zappa).
Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock handbill is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a pair of fairly decent-sized (3" and 4") diagonal creases/bends extending from the left-center margin up to the upper right margin, along with a couple of tiny corner-tip bumps and a slight vertical curl to the card, otherwise it is a very decent example of this colorful 1968 handbill from the Pinnacle series.
One of the more playful images in the Pinnacle series, this show also acted as a benefit for the L.A. Free Clinic.
