Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 20" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin), the Loving Impuse, the S.F. Earthquake Dancers and the Congress of Wonders at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA on 12/18/1967. (*possibly cancelled)
Design by Gut (Allan Terk), an almost-identical image from a Winterland show is featured in the Art of Rock on page 194 (plate 2.207). *AOR dates the poster 1966, but it is more likely from 1967.
This is the WIDE MARGIN version with an additional 1&3/4" strip along the left side with "DIRECT FROM SAN FRANCISCO", "Dancing 8:30-2:00" and "Shrine Exhibition Hall, 700 W. 32 St Los Angeles" printed in blue ink.
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; there are a few tiny pin-prick and a couple of negligible edge/corner-tip creases scattered around the outer margin area, but for the most part it's a pretty clean example.
Very festive holiday-themed Big Brother/Quicksilver concert poster from Los Angeles, this version doesn't seem to turn up very frequently.
