Description

Original 1st printing 13 x 21&1/2" concert/event poster for Gold Rush, a single-day event held in Lake Amador, CA on 10/4/1969. Acts listed include: Santana, Taj Mahal, Kaleidoscope, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, Al Wilson, Southwind, Ike & Tina Turner, Country Weather, John Fahey, Sons of Champlin, Linn County and Daybreak.

Design by Carson-Morris Studios (not credited), image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 262 (plate 3.23)

Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are a series of semi-pronounced handling/stress creases scattered throughout the poster, along with a large nail hole/drag tear and a small surface pull in the top center margin, staple/pin holes and tape residue shadows in all four corners and in the top/bottom center margins, a bit of pressure creasing and a couple of tiny nip tears along the left/right margis, a set of tape pulls and a bit of writing on the reverse side... definitely a well-traveled example.

Conditional issues aside, still a cool late-'69 concert/event artifact from what was by many accounts a VERY fun day.
