Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 21&3/4" concert/event poster for the 1st Northern California Folk-Rock Festival, held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA from 5/18-19/1968.

 Poster lists performances by: Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, Country Joe & the Fish, the Animals, Taj Mahal, Ravi Shankar, Electric Flag, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), the Youngbloods and Kaleidoscope. Also appeared (not listed): Grateful Dead, Crome Syrcus, Trans-Atlantic Railroad and more.

 Design by Carson Morris Studios, the image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 232 (plate 2.341).

 Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; just a hint of handling wear (a few ultra-light pinch dings hiding within the image area) and that's pretty much all there is to speak of... a VERY sharp/crisp example of this perennially popular 1968 multi-act festival poster from the first year of the event.

 Check out a fascinating audience-shot super-8 film clip of the Doors in action at the Festival;
