Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 21&1/2" concert poster for Country Joe & the Fish appearing with Led Zeppelin (their San Francisco debut) and Taj Mahal at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA from 1/9-11/1969.

Art by Randy Tuten (with William "Daddy Bread" Bosdedt and a photo by Peter Pynchon), image is # 155 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium glossy-coated stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; there are hairline-thin corner-tip creases in the lower left/right corner tips, along with a VERY tiny horizontal bend along the bottom right margin, another tiny vertical bend along the upper left margin, a couple of minuscule print hickeys hiding within the image area, a nearly-invisible soft crescent-shaped handling bend in the lower left margin and a quarter-sized rubber stamp (from an Italian art collection) on the reverse, otherwise it is an absolutely STUNNING example of this iconic early-'69 Fillmore poster.

In addition to the Taj and Zeppelin sets, Country Joe's guests on the final night (1/11) included Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna (incidentally, the Airplane's Jack Casady was filling in on bass for Country Joe at all of these shows) and Steve Miller.

A HUGE night at the Fillmore for only $3.50!
