Description

Original 1st printing (West Coast Litho credit) 13&5/8 x 20&1/2" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Chuck Berry and Johnny Talbot and De Thangs at the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco, CA from 3/17-19/1967.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 55 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good (B) condition; there are a series of staple holes scattered around the outer margin area, in all four corner tips and a couple hiding within the image area (on the "i" of "Fillmore" and a few other places), along with a VERY well-camouflaged thin diagonal bend/crease (about 7" long) going from the lower right margin area into the "8" of "28", a few stray handling creases here and there, a thin horizontal bend  (about 4-5") going through "March", a couple of tiny pin-prick spots in the lower right margin, a tiny printing glitch on the "u" of "Chuck" and a series of tiny pin-prick glue residue spots scattered around the outer margin area of the reverse side, otherwise OK.

Unlike almost EVERY other original example I have come across, this one looks like it was actually put up (and taken down) at the time of the shows.

 Nice-looking example of this early-'67 Fillmore/Winterland poster with a killer double-bill.
