Description

 Pair of original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 5&1/2" concert handbills, along with a double-uncut 11 x 8&1/2" pair of handbills (a total of FOUR separate images for four different shows) for a series of shows called "the Deed of Shame", all sponsored by and featuring local garage-rock band the Friendly Stranger;

Shows were held at Veteran's Memorial Hall in Oakland and at California Hall in San Francisco and included (in addition to Friendly Stranger) Motley Crew (not the LA glam metal band) and Iron Butterfly (Vet's Hall on 9/24) Universal Joint (Cal Hall on 9/30 and Vet's Hall on 10/1) and Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin, Cal Hall 11/23-24)

 Art by Becket, thin flat stock handbills are in mint/near mint to near mint (A/A- to A-) condition (the Big Brother and Iron Butterfly handbills) and decent/used (B/B- to B-) condition (the uncut pair); the uncut pair has a few decent-sized chunks of paper missing from the upper right margin/corner, along with a vertical center crease, a bit of surface wear/light staining, pin holes in the upper margin area, a few stray handling creases and thin bends here and there and a bit of flair-pen scribble on the reverse side, but is still mostly presentable.

 Interesting set of all four "Deed of Shame" images in one lot.
