Description

Original 1st printing 5&5/8 x 8&1/2" concert handbill for the 13th Floor Elevators (featuring Roky Erickson) appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 9/30-10/1/1966.

Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image ("Zebra Man") is # 28 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. (OHB-A in the Eric King guide)

Thin flat stock handbill is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there is a 1" tear in the bottom center margin, along with a moderate amount of handling wear/creasing, a few stray nip tears and tiny creases scattered around the outer margin area, a few tiny pin-prick surface stains in the upper right margin, around "Oct 1" and "Outlets", a thin 3" diagonal bend going from the top center margin down to the upper right/center margin, a bit of diagonal creasing in the lower corners, a few stray stains on the reverse... definitely a well-loved example.

Conditional issues aside, still a pretty cool little original late-'66 Mouse/Kelley Avalon handbill with an iconic design an a KILLER headliner.
