Description

Original 1st printing (thin stock) 13&3/8 x 20&7/8" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with Andrew Staples and the P.H. Phactor Jug Band on 9/2-3/1966, the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Country Joe & the Fish on 9/4/1966 and Martha & the Vandellas appearing with Johnny Talbot and De Thangs on 9/5/1966, all shows held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 26 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good (B) condition; there are several tiny pin holes ina all four corners and in the top center margin, along with a light to moderate degree of handling/wear/creasing, a 3" thin diagonal bend in the lower right corner/margin, a series of fairly well-camouflaged surface scuffs and pin-prick moisture spots scattered mostly around the outer margin area (with a few hiding within the image area), a bit of semi-pronounced creasing along the upper margin area, a few stray tiny edge dings here and there and a couple of minor stains on the reverse, otherwise OK.

As most collectors of the Bill Graham/Fillmore series are aware, the thin-stock version of this poster can be a challenge to find in ANY condition- this is actually a fairly decent-looking example.
