Description

Officially licensed 2008 printing (Rhino Entertainment stamp on the reverse) 27&1/8 x 37&1/2" oversized lithograph print of a concert poster for the Grateful ("Greatful") Dead appearing with Sopwith Camel at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 8/19-20/1966.

Art by (and SIGNED in pencil and numbered 323/500 by) Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image ("Frankenstein") is # 22 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.

Extra-thick oak-tag/rag vellum stock lithograph (with rough/hand-cut edges, as issued) is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a 1&1/2" vertical tear in the top right margin, along with a smaller 1" horizontal tear in the lower right margin, a moderate amount of surface dirt along the lower margin, a couple of fairly well-camouflaged thin horizontal stress bends and semi-soft handling creases hiding within the image area and a couple of light scuffs on the reverse, otherwise it is a very decent-looking example of the EXTRA-LARGE edition of this iconic Grateful Dead image.

You can see this same lithograph up on the wall of current bluegrass favorite Billy Strings as he performs the timeless G.D. classic "Dire Wolf" from his home:
