Description

 Original 1st printing 13&1/8 x 16&1/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Flying Burrito Brothers (with Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman) and AUM at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 4/4-6/1969.

 Artist unknown/not credited, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 111 (plate 2.26). This is the dark blue ink/YELLOW stock version.

 Medium flat index stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; aside from a whisper of handling wear, a couple of tiny corner-tip bends, a slight horizontal press anomaly (a slightly dark strip across the middle of the image from the ink roller) and a bit of pen scratch on the reverse side (top margin and lower left corner), it is a REALLY sharp example of this totally bizarre-looking 1969 Grateful Dead image from the Soundproof series.

 Check out this FASCINATING blog post detailing the story behind the shows, specifically the influence of Burritos pedal steel player Sneaky Pete Kleinow on Jerry Garcia;
