Description

Original 1st printing 13&7/8 x 17" concert poster for "Rockarama", a five-day series of shows held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 3/26-30/1969.

Acts/shows listed include; Santana, It's a Beautiful Day, Lamb, Allmen Joy and Anonymous Artists of America (3/26), Cleveland Wrecking Company, Ace of Cups, the Conqueroo and Morning Glory (3/27), Melting Pot, Cleanliness and Godliness Skiffle Band, Linn County and The 4th Way (3/28), Shades of Joy, Clover, Country Weather and Frumious Bandersnatch (3/29), The Youngbloods, A.B. Skhy, Initial Shock, Alice Cooper and Pure Funk (3/30).

Art by underground comix legend Gilbert Shelton ("Fabulous Furry Freak Bros."), image is part of the Soundproof Presents/Avalon series.

Medium-thin flat "parchment" vellum stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; aside from a few tiny bends scattered around the outer margin area, a nearly-invisible 5-6" diagonal bend going across the upper right corner, a few soft pinch dings here and there and a trace of surface dirt, it is a FANTASTIC example of this out-of-control Gilbert Shelton image from the early-mid 1969 Soundproof/Avalon series.
