Description

Original 1st printing 15&1/2 x 20" concert poster for local Detroit garage-fuzz rockers the Woolies appearing with the "Avant-Rock" of the MC5 at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI from 10/14-15/1966.

Art by Gary Grimshaw, image is # 2 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series.

Medium flat vellum stock poster has been partially restored to excellent (B+) condition; there are a series of horizontal creases that have been flattened (including one that goes across the center of the poster), along with a bit of edge/corner-tip repair (holes filled, a couple of tiny patches and stains removed) and there remain a series of TINY pin holes hiding along the lower portion of the image area and in the lower left/right corners and a few tiny stress bends/tiny edge dings here and there, but overall it looks REALLY nice.

EARLY (1966) Grande Ballroom poster complete with the original "Uncle Russ Travel Agency" logo in the upper left corner. Check out an early recording of the Woolies stomping their way through the Bo Diddley standard, "Who Do You Love?" HERE:
