Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert/event flyer for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service, Stokely Carmichael and the Staff, Johnny Talbot and De Thangs, the James Cotton Blues Band, Jon Hendricks and John Hardy (Handy) in a benefit (a fundraiser for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 11/20/1966.

Art by Christian (Bob) Collins (not credited), image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 150 (plate 2.70).

Thin flat stock flyer is in decent (B/B-) condition; there is a bit of staining/discoloration, staple holes and tiny pin-prick glue spots in all four corners, along with a bit of pen scratch along the lower right margin ("Univ Friends of SNCC" in blue ballpoint), a few tiny mouse bite edge nips along the lower margin area, a tiny nip out of the lower right corner tip, a small dark glue stain in the lower right margin, light handling and a set of decent-sized glue residue stains on the reverse (one corner has a bit of hardened/crystalized glue), otherwise OK... definitely a bit on the used side, but the central image area is pretty clean overall.
