Description

Original 1st printing 17&3/8 x 22&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with It's A Beautiful Day and Rare Bird at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL on 7/3/1970. (*show cancelled, as the band was still on the Festival Express tour across Canada)

Art by Daniel Clyne, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 398 (plate 4.202).

Medium-thick glossy stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are small edge tears along the upper right and top margins (each about 3/4-1"), along with a few tiny pin-prick age spots and and minuscule pressure dings scattered around the outer margin area, a series of thin stress bends/semi-pronounced handling creases and a couple of tiny pin-prick surface pulls scattered throughout the image area and a set of light tape pulls and a tiny scuff or two on the reverse side, otherwise fine.

Very presentable example of this always-popular mid-1970 Grateful Dead concert poster from the legendary (and still operating) Chicago ballroom.  The consignor actually picked up the poster at the Aragon in the early-'70's and has held onto it ever since.
