Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for Santana appearing with Steppenwolf and the Staple Singers from 8/27-29/1968 and the Grateful Dead appearing with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Sons of Champlin from 8/30-9/1/1968, all shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA.

Art by (and SIGNED in black felt pen by) Lee Conklin, image is # 134 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium flat index stock poster has been partially restored (reverse side only) to very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there were four fossilized masking tape pieces on the reverse side which were removed (shadows remain), leaving very light discolorations/stains in all four corners (going through "the "F" of "Fillmore (upper left), the "et" of "Market (upper right), the "Sa" of "Santana" (lower left) and "Champlin" (lower right), along with a subtle moisture wave to the paper, a couple of light smudge marks in the lower left/right corners, a whisper of handling wear and a couple of tiny pin-prick spots on the reverse side (along with the tape shadows), otherwise fine.

A FANTASTIC-looking ARTIST-SIGNED 1st printing example of one of the most recognized and iconic images in the Fillmore series.
