Original 1st printing 17&3/8 x 25" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Moby Grape, Love (with Arthur Lee) and Blue Crumb Truck Factory appearing at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 3/3/1967* (after a few false starts, this was actually the very first GD appearance at Winterland).
Art by (Donna) Herrick, image ("The First Annual Love Circus") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 188 (plate 2.194).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a fairly pronounced large 10" diagonal crease along the lower left margin that leads to a small 1/2" tear in the bottom center margin, along with a series of light to semi-pronounced thin horizontal stress bends in the left center margin, tack holes in the upper left/right corners, a bit of edge creasing/age spotting/wear along the left/right margins, a few well-camouflaged thin vertical stress bends hiding within the image area and a light to moderate degree of handling, otherwise OK.
This example actually looks much better than it sounds- strong colors, good registration, no paper toning... a pretty nice-looking specimen overall.
Check out this very informative recent interview with the artist, Donna (Herrick) Wallace-Cohen;
