Description

Original 1st printing 8&73/8 x 12&7/8" double-sided (map on the reverse) concert/event flyer for the 2nd Sky River Rock Festival, held in Tenino, WA from 8/30-9/1/1969.

Flyer lists appearances by the Flying Burrito Brothers (with Gram Parsons), Anonymous Artist of America, Big Mama Thornton, Blacksnake, Bluebird, Billy Roberts, Blues Image, the Cleanliness & Godliness Skiffle Band, the Collectors, Congress of Wonders, James Cotton Blues Band, Country Weather, Country Joe & the Fish, Crome Syrcus, Collectors, Congress of Wonders, Frumious Bandersnatch, Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Dr. Humbead's New Tranquility String Band, Grapefruit, Guitar Shorty, Dick Gregory, Kaleidoscope (with David Lindley), (Mississippi) Fred McDowell, Magic Sam, Mother Tucker's Yellow Duck, the New Lost City Ramblers, New York City Rock & Roll Ensemble, the Sons of Champlin, Alice Stuart, Elyse Weinberg and many more.

Medium-thin flat stock flyer is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are a series of semi-pronounced horizontal/vertical/diagonal bends scattered throughout the piece, along with a moderate amount of handling wear/creasing, a few stray tiny edge nips and creases scattered around the outer margin area, a touch of toning and a bit of corner-tip wear (diagonal creasing and a few tiny pin-prick holes in the lower right corner), otherwise OK.

Very neat (and uncommon) late-1969 PNW festival artifact from the second edition of Sky River. Read more about the event (complete with first-hand recollections) HERE:
