Description

 Original 1st printing 14&7/8 x 20" benefit (marijuana legalization) concert poster for Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen appearing with Papa John Creach (Jefferson Airplane), Zulu and Steelwind at the Village in San Francisco, CA from 1/4-5/1974.

 Art by A. Funke, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 334 (plate 4.4) *show is misidentified in the book as being from 1971.

 Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are tack holes in the upper left/right corners with a large wedge-pull/hole in the upper left corner, along with a decent-sized tack hole and another tiny wedge pull in the bottom center, possible edge trimming along the top border (kinda hard to tell, but the corners look a little sliced), a few tiny pin-prick stains around the outer margin area, a few stray edge nips, light handling creases around the outer edges and a couple of light stains on the reverse, otherwise OK... the image area is actually fairly clean- all of the damage is restricted to the outer border area.

 Conditional issues aside, it remains a very presentable example of a semi-hard-to-find AOR piece with a great design.

 Great-looking example of this late-'67 Jim Salzer poster from the AOR;
 check out a great informative list of 1960's-era shows (including this one) held at the Earl Warren Showgrounds:
