Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 22" cardboard boxing-style/letterpress concert poster for Frijid Pink appearing with Grand Funk Railroad, Granny Goose and Dick Holiday at JFK Coliseum in Manchester, NH on 5/1/1970. (*sponsored by New Hampshire College, AKA Southern New Hampshire University)

Printed/designed by Allied Printing, extra-thick cardboard stock letterpress poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; there  is a large tack hole in the top center, along with a moderate amount of toning with a series of tiny pin-prick water droplet stains scattered throughout the poster, with a thin vertical strip (about 1/2") of discoloration along the right edge (and a tiny sliver along the bottom edge), a small tape mark on the "H" of "N.H." and a couple of tiny pressure creases in the corner tips and around the outer margin area, otherwise fine.

Interesting New England-area concert poster featuring a pair of headliners from Michigan; this was during the roughly 10 seconds in early 1970 when Frijid Pink's version of "House of the Rising Sun" outsold anything by Grand Funk... that would change within weeks, when GFR's "I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home" (released in June) became a HUGE hit, leaving Frijid Pink pretty much in the dust.
