Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin appearing with King Curtis and the Kingpins, Tower of Power and Cold Blood at the Century Plaza Hotel Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA on 2/27/1971.

Art by David Singer with a photo by Jim Marshall, image is # 272-A in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in good (B) condition; there are a series of soft horizontal roll bends going from the top to the bottom of the poster, along with a thin horizontal crease and a couple of tiny diagonal creases in the upper left corner, a tiny bend in the upper left corner tip, a few stray pinch bends scattered along the outer margin area, a 1/2" tear in the upper right margin, a few stray fingerprints and a set of tape pulls with a bit of pencil scratch on the reverse, otherwise OK... still a fairly presentable example of this early-'71 Bill Graham poster from a one-off show in Los Angeles (a showcase for the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM).
