Description

Pair of original 1st printing (13&5/8 x 20&3/4") and official promoter-issued 2nd printing (13&5/8 x 21&1/4") concert posters for the Blues Project appearing with the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) and Canned Heat at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from 2/17-19/1967. (*see below for addendum to 2/19 show)

Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 50 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

The 1st printing is on medium-thick flat vellum stock and is in used (B-) condition; there are numerous bends/creases and tiny staple/pin holes throughout the poster, along with a moderate degree of edge/corner wear, a small chunk out of the bottom right corner, a small black paint stain in the lower right corner, a bit of pencil scratch (*the handwritten addition of local bands "All Night Flight" and "The Wheel" to the Sunday show), large tape pulls on the reverse... this example was pretty obviously removed from public display, it has a LOT of battle scars.

The 2nd printing is on thick flat index stock and is in near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; aside from a touch of handling wear, a tiny corner-tip bend or two and a couple of nearly-invisible horizontal roll bends near the top of the image area, it's in really nice shape.

Neat-looking pair of early-'67 Fillmore artifacts, the one with the handwritten additions is REALLY interesting. Any additional info on these acts is welcome!
