Description

Original 1st printing 21&3/4 x 26&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Sons of Champlin and Initial Shock at the Avalon Ballroom In San Francisco, CA from 1/24-26/1969.

Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Aoxoamoxoa") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 109 (plate 2.24) and is part of the Soundproof Presents series.

Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a number of thin horizontal bends and tiny pressure creases running along the left/right margins, along with a couple of thin white scratch marks in the upper left border, few light handling dings and thin stress creases hiding within the image area, a tiny edge tear or two lurking around the outer margin area and a few scuff marks on the reverse, otherwise fine.

Very nice-looking 1st printing Soundproof Aoxomoxoa poster... not perfect, but not completely hammered. The colors are still bright/strong with no real evidence of fading/discoloration (a common isue with used/displayed examples). Check out the 1/26 show (a great-sounding Charlie Miller transfer) HERE
