Description

Original 1st printing 13&7/8 x 20" concert poster for Canadian folk legend Gordon Lightfoot appearing from 5/18-21/1967 at the New Penelope (Coffee House) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (sponsored by Elektra and Verve/Folkways Records in association with Expo '67).

Art by Robert LaVigne, image is one of only a few posters (7 total, I believe) created by Liberty Graphics for shows at the Cafe Au Go-Go (and elsewhere); they were distributed by the poster shop upstairs from the club ("The Infinite Poster").

Medium flat vellum stock poster is in mint/near mint to near mint (A/A- to A-) condition; with the exception of a couple of TINY corner-tip bumps, this example is just as sharp/crisp as the day it was issued.... pretty much as flawless as you can hope to find.

This poster (and a Dave Van Ronk poster we have listed separately) has been kept since 1968, when the consignor happened by the Infinite Poster on Bleecker Street as it was being emptied out and managed to grab a few pieces; this is one of the last (and best) ones in the stash.
