Description

Original 1st printing38&1/2 x 19&1/4" extra-large concert poster for the 9/2-4/2000 Long Beach Blues Festival, held at North Athletic Field on the campus of California State University, Long Beach.

Performers listed include:  Bo Diddley (with Billy Boy Arnold), The Allman Brothers Band, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Etta James, Bobby Womack, Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, Son Seals (with Sugar Blue), "Lonestar Shootout" (Lonnie Brooks, Long John Hunter and Phillip Walker), Bernard Allison, Jimmy Dawkins, Carl Weathersby (with Melvin Taylor), Mavis Staples/Staples Singers, Robert Cray Band, "Harpmasters Jam II" (Rod Piazza, James Cotton, Johnny Dyer, Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Branch and the Mighty Flyers) and more.

Designer unknown/not credited, extra-thick glossy stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are a series of ultra-tiny edge dings scattered along the top/bottom margins, along with a couple of light handling creases/fingerprint smudges hiding within the image area, a hint of corner-tip wear and a fairly pronounced curl to the paper from being rolled too tightly, otherwise fine.

Very cool-looking multi-act poster from Southern California, this poster comes from the collection of former Bo Diddley band leader Debby Hastings.
