Original 1st printing 13 x 21&7/8" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with the MC5 and Pink Peech Mob on 3/1/1968 and with Tiffany Shade and Family Dumptruck on 3/2/1968, both shows held at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI.

 Art by Gary Grimshaw with a photo by Irving Penn, image is # 71 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series and is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 299 (plate 3.141). 

 Medium flat index stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; there is a tiny nip out of the top left corner tip, a small 1/2" tear in the upper left margin, a decent-sized tack hole/vertical tear (about 1/2") in the top center margin, a light to moderate degree of toning (more prevalent on the reverse side), a small 1/2" tear in the bottom center margin and a whisper of handling, otherwise fine.

 Nicely-aged example of this perennially popular Big Brother image from the Grande. The first printing has become increasingly difficult to come by in recent years, this is the first one I've had in a while.
