Original 1st printing 6 x 10" concert handbill for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and the P.H. Phactor Jug Band at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR from 2/2-3/1968.
Art by George Hunter, image (*poster with different typeface in the venue area) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 287 (plate 3.103).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock handbill is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are staple holes along the top/bottom margins, along with a tiny pin hole in the upper left margin, a couple of tiny surface pulls just above the "T" of "Tour" and in the "E" of "NOTICE", a series of thin bends and semi-soft handling creases hiding within the image area, a thin pink scratch just to the right of the exclamation point and a couple of tiny corner-tip splits, otherwise fine. (*scan shows a piece of clear tape in the right margin, but it has been removed)
All told, the conditional issues don't detract very much due to the design of the piece- to the contrary, they contribute quite nicely to the old-west-style "torn down" look of the piece.
GREAT-LOOKING original Grateful Dead/QMS "Notice!" concert handbill from the legendary winter 1968 tour of the Pacific Northwest. Stream the 2/2 show HERE:
