Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for the Grateful Dead appearing with Oxford Circle at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 9/16-17/1966.

Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse (with Edmund Sullivan), image ("Skeleton & Roses") is # 26 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.

Thin flat stock flyer is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there is a small diagonal wedge out of the lower left corner tip, along with a series of tiny edge dings/nicks and a light tape pull or two scattered around the outer margin area, a set of light pulls in the other corners (tape removal), a pin hole in the upper right corner, a 1/2" bend in the upper left corner, light handling wear and a trace of surface dirt, otherwise fine.

While not perfect, it is still a very presentable ORIGINAL example of this iconic early Grateful Dead concert image from the Avalon. Considering what some of the posters have been going for lately, this is a pretty decent reasonably-priced alternative.
