Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for Jefferson Airplane appearing with the Great Society (featuring Grace Slick) at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 7/22-23/1966.

Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley (with the central image borrowed from Franz (Von) Stuck), image is # 17 in the Family Dog/Avalon series (this version is purple ink on yellow stock, OHB-B in the Eric King guide).

Thin flat stock flyer is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there is a small 1/4" diagonal chunk out of the top right corner tip with a series of tape removal marks/light pulls in the other three corners, a tiny tack hole/rust stain/pull in the top left corner tip, a few tiny nip tears and nicks scattered around the outer margin area, a light amount of handling wear, a tiny tear in the top right margin and a thin soft diagonal/vertical bend along the upper right margin, otherwise fine

A very presentable example of this early Mouse/Kelley Avalon Ballroom flyer.
