Description

Original 1st printing 20&3/8 x 28" event poster for the Hog Farm hosting a series of Thursday night "Open Celebrations" at Cinemateque 16 in Los Angeles, CA, circa late 1967-early 1968.

Art by Rick Griffin, image (2nd printing 1976 European Edition with "Bindweed Venom" in place of "Cream Pudding") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 238 (plate 2.358).

Thin glossy stock poster is in used (B-) condition; there is fairly extensive corner damage (holes/pulls, a series of creases, tny chunks of missing paper, etc.), along with a moderate degree of edge wear/creasing (including a series of small tears scattered alround the outer margin area, light handling wear, a few minor areas of moisture wear/rippling to the paper (most prominently in the lower left corner), a few soft surface stains, a bit of toning/fading in a couple of areas... definitely used, but still all there.

The original 1960's-era 1st printing of this poster is VERY hard to find, especially in decent shape. The fragility of the stock tends to accept damage very easily- this example seems to have quite a few of the conditional issues that are often associated with the poster.

A presentable, if a bit used example of this semi-hard-to-find Griffin classic.
