Description

Original 1st printing 9 x 15" cardboard easel-backed counter display/mini-poster for the original 1968 Los Angeles, CA engagement of "Hair, The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical", performed at the Aquarius Theater (formerly the Kaleidoscope, Hullaballoo, Earl Carroll Theatre), beginning on 5/30/1968 (*show ran for two years, closing in 1971).

Design by Ruspoli-Rodriguez, thick glossy-coated cardboard stock display (easel back intact/unopened) is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a small pull/scuff on the "h" of "Theater, along with a semi-pronounced large crescent-shaped bend going across the top margin, a thin 2" horizontal stress crease traversing the lips of the green face, a few light surface scuffs/pin-prick spots and thin surface scrapes scattered around the image area, a couple of tiny soft bends in the corner tips and a few stray edge dings, otherwise it is a fine-looking example of a very unique "mini-version" of this iconic late-'60's poster.

Check out the outer facade of the building, which was painted specifically for the show by the Dutch collective "the Fool" (famous for their work on the Beatles' Apple Boutique)!
