Description

Original 1st printing 13 x 20" concert poster for a benefit for the Traditional Indian Land and Life Committee, held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on either 6/5/1968 or 6/5/1969 (*unconfirmed- I can't find any references to this show happening or not). Featured acts listed include: Kaleidoscope (featuring David Lindley), Pacific Gas & Electric, Hunger and L.A. Smog.

Artist unknown/not credited, medium-thin textured vellum stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; aside from a hand-torn/rough left margin, a hand-corrected price ($3.00 to $2.00 in marker), and a few light fingerprint smudges and soft handling dings scattered around the piece, it is in pretty nice shape overall. The printing technique almost looks like stone lithography, very unique.

VERY STRANGE oddball Avalon anomaly, this piece came in a collection of all original material that had a couple of other previously unidentified benefit items. The hand-corrected price leads me to believe it was at the very least intended for display, but I have no hard proof... a mystery!
