Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 20" benefit (*for the Council for Civic Unity) concert flyer, "Abe Lincoln's Birthday", which featured the Grateful Dead appearing with Moby Grape, Sly & the Family Stone, Notes from the Underground and the New Salvation Army Band at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 2/11/1967.

Art by Hank Lelo, image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series (this show falls on the same date as BG 49), but it does appear in the Art of Rock on page 151 (plate 2.73) in the "Fillmore Auditorium Benefits" chapter and is credited to Bill Graham in the top margin.

Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in good (B) condition; there is a 1 x 2" diagonal moisture stain in the upper right margin/corner, along with a series of light handling dings and well-camouflaged soft bends, a hint of rippling to the paper, a stray edge ding or two scattered around the outer margin area and a couple of tiny stress bends/pin-prick spots hiding within the image area, otherwise fine.

REALLY cool original 1st printing early-1967 Fillmore benefit poster with an awesome all-Bay Area lineup, highlighted by the Grateful Dead and Sly & the Family Stone.
