Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 20&1/2" concert/event poster for the 2nd Northern California Folk-Rock Festival, held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA from 5/23-25/1969.

Poster lists performances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jefferson Airplane, Chambers Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Eric Burdon, Spirit, Canned Heat, Buffy St. Marie, the Youngbloods, Steve Miller, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Taj Mahal, Noel Redding (Fat Mattress), Lee Michaels, Blues Image, Santana, Aum, Elvin Bishop, Poco (Pogo), People, Linn (Lynn) County, Loading Zone, Sweet Linda (Tillery) Divine, Cat Mother & the All-Night Newsboys, Doc Watson and the New Lost City Ramblers. Also appeared (not listed): Fritz (featuring Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks) and more.

Design by Linda Segul, medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; there is a small wavy pinch crease in the lower right margin, along with a stray fingerprint smudge/sof handling ding or two hiding within the image area, a couple of tiny pin-prick indentations on the "l" and "k" of "Folk" and a pair of minor edge discolorations on the revrse side, otherwise it is a pretty sharp/crisp example overall.

AWESOME original 1969 rock festival artifact from the second (and final) edition of the San Jose-based event. While not all of the bands listed on the poster appeared at the event (most notably Led Zeppelin), many did- including Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, the Chambers Brothers, Santana and more.
