Original 1st printing 13 x 19&7/8" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Sugar Creek and Roxy at the Boston Tea Party (Landsdowne St location) in Boston, MA from 4/9-11/1970.
Art by Alton Kelley, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 406 (plate 4.229) medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in decent (B/B-) condition; there are numerous staple/tack holes and a bit of fraying/wear in all four corner tips (and one or two loose holes hiding within the image area), along with a light to moderate degree of paper toning, a series of thin bends stretching along the bottom border, a 5" diagonal bend in the upper right corner/quadrant, a few stray surface dings/pin-prick spots and a thin bend or two hiding within the image area, a fair amount of edge chipping along the left/right margins and a series of large masking tape shadows on the reverse side, otherwise OK... definitely a bit worn, but it's all there.
Conditional issues aside, I have only had a couple of these pass through my hands over the years- it's not a very easy poster to obtain. This poster is from the brief period in early 1970 when Kelley had moved back east and was working around the Boston/Cambridge area.
